Big Girl Birthday Portraits

Big Girl Birthday Portraits

I want to share with you this beautiful little girl whose five-year-old birthday was in May. I took photos of her last year when she was four years old, and it was so much fun to see how much she’s come out of her shell over the past year! I always like following clients over time and watching kids and families grow.

Beautiful Engagement Portraits

Beautiful Engagement Portraits

Couples are so fun to photograph, especially when they have officially committed to each other and are eagerly looking forward to a shared future together. There is that sparkle in the eyes and the ease with each other. It’s interesting how people get such strong ideas in their heads about how photogenic they are. These ideas are almost always based on bad experiences with people who aren’t very experienced taking photographs. You simply can’t base your photogenic qualities on snapshots. If you think you’re hopeless give me a chance. I honestly believe I can make every single person look great in my portraits. That’s my job!

Tips For Shooting Rainy Weddings

Tips For Shooting Rainy Weddings

Who says a little rain will ruin your wedding day? This is Oregon! At this wedding we saw it all. Glorious sunshine, light drizzle, torrential downpours, and even hail! Here’s some advice on how to handle a rainy wedding:

Vintage:Modern Wedding

Vintage:Modern Wedding

I had the pleasure of capturing photos from this beautiful wedding last weekend. The bride had such a great look, with a mix of modern and vintage pieces. Her veil was made by a friend and was absolutely stunning, one of the most fun pieces to photograph!

Sellwood Head Shots

Sellwood Head Shots

I had a fabulous head shot session yesterday in Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. I was thrilled to get that idyllic bokeh from the marsh reeds and spring leaves all around us. I think this might become a staple for Portland portrait sessions!

Dynamic Toddler Session

Dynamic Toddler Session

When I head out to a toddler portrait session, I prepare myself for all possibilities. By the end of this session I was so happy I could barely contain myself. I always love kid photo sessions, but this one just really put a smile on my face. I hope it does yours, too!

Urban Sweetheart Session

Urban Sweetheart Session

I had a fabulous time with the sweetheart sessions booked through my Valentine’s Day free session promotion.  I’ve just got to share this one as it’s so much fun!  These guys were up for anything, including standing on a giant pedestal in downtown Portland and letting me set up lights and put them literally on [...]

Free Sweetheart Session

Free Sweetheart Session

Getting couples together for a portrait session not only results in a beautiful keepsake, but helps those two people to see their relationship, each other and their emotions from an outside perspective that they don’t see for themselves every day. And that can be quite a gift to give. Be sure to post this link on Facebook, Twitter, or in any other way share this offer with that Portland area couple who you think deserves a free couples portrait session by a professional photographer this Valentine’s Day season!

Being Visible

Being Visible

Today I had a multi-purpose photo session!  I took some ridiculously adorable photographs of these two little ones while I was filmed and a few other former clients were interviewed in order to produce a short promotional video for Serravision Photography.
As a photographer who’s used to being able to come home and look at the [...]

Going to the Dogs!

Going to the Dogs!

My Halloween was spent in the park shooting holiday card portraits with this lovely couple and their two gorgeous dogs, and the portraits we achieved are way cute!

Urban Model Shoot

Urban Model Shoot

Having just moved to the Portland area, I wanted to explore new locations to shoot. The bridges, railroads, river, skyline and industrial architecture made for some very interesting frames.

Day at the Park

Day at the Park

I like to play in these situations and take more traditional shots with everyone smiling and looking at the camera as well as more non-traditional shots that are more like a slice of life and then put them together.

Two Squared

Two Squared

Few things are more challenging than pre-speech twins, but if you know the right moves they can be a blast, and the portraits can be so cute!

Newborn in the Summer

Newborn in the Summer

Summer is such a great time for newborn babies, which of course translates to this newborn portrait session.

Celebrating Life

Celebrating Life

This loving couple were brave enough to bare belly in the arboretum, with some stunning portraits as the result.  What more could a photographer want than a beautiful couple who fully embrace the baby they’re expecting and want to display her beginnings in such a stunning natural setting.  I love the fact that mom wore [...]

Dancing and Photographing

Dancing and Photographing

I did a photo shoot the other day with Heather Bryce, a choreographer and dancer, at Spy Pond up in Arlington. The goal of the shoot was mainly to capture her in motion, as well as to get some head shots of her.

The park is beautiful, but very parky in that there [...]
